

Professor John Rasko BSc (Med), MBBS (Hons), PhD, FFSc (RCPA), FRCPA, FRACP
John Rasko is a clinical hematologist, pathologist and scientist with a productive track record in gene and stem cell therapy, experimental haematology and molecular biology. In over 150 publications, he has contributed to the understanding of stem cells and haemopoiesis, gene transfer technologies, oncogenesis, human aminoacidurias, and non-coding RNAs.
He serves on hospital, state, and national bodies including Chair of GTTAC, Office of the Gene Technology Regulator – responsible for regulating all genetically modified organisms in Australia - and Chair of the Advisory Committee on Biologicals, Therapeutic Goods Administration. He is the recipient of national (RCPA, RACP, ASBMB) and international awards in recognition of his commitment to excellence in medical research, including appointment as an Officer of the Order of Australia.

Dr. Matteo Morello is currently serving as Director of Academic Affairs, Head of Biomedicine Department, Program Manager of Biomanufacturing Training Program, & Head of Laboratory at Indonesia International Institute for Life Science (i3L). Prior is enrollment at i3L, he was trained at several world class institutions including: Harvard University, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of Los Angeles, California.
Matteo received his Bachelor and Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Florence, Italy. While pursuing his Master he worked as Visiting Scientist at Harvard University. He later carried on with his PhD in Endocrinology, Molecular and Regenerative Biotechnology at University of Florence and Harvard University. During his graduate studies, he worked as Research Staff at Boston Children’s Hospital. After completing his PhD, Matteo undertook a Post Doctoral Scientist position at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute in Los Angeles.
Dr. Matteo also achieved some awards; Genetic Engineering in Biomedicine from Careggi Hospital, Florence, Italy in 2005, followed by Outstanding Abstract Award for Exceptional Research from The Endocrine Society, Boston, USA in 2011. His selected publications are including Oncosomes formation in prostate cancer: Association with a region of frequent chromosomal deletion in metastatic disease, Cancer Research (2009), and the most recent-is Loss of Caveolin-1 in prostate cancer stroma correlates with reduced relapse-free survival and is functionally relevant to tumor progression, The Journal of Pathology, in 2013.

Ahmad Rusdan Handoyo Utomo, Ph.D
Dr. Utomo is an Indonesian scientist who joins i3L from Stem cell and Cancer Institute. He is the principal investigator as well as Head of Kalbe Genomics Laboratory. Prior to this he achieved his BSc in Chemistry (Magna Cum Laude) from Angelo State University, Texas, USA. He later obtained his PhD in Molecular Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas USA and eventually secured a Postdoctoral Fellowship from Harvard Medical School & Brigham and Women Hospital, Boston, USA.
